Compare Faymonville HighwayMAX Models
The HighwayMAX lineup includes several configurations for different load weights, axle requirements, and operating conditions. Choosing the right model starts with the cargo, route, tractor, loading method, and allowable axle loading.
HighwayMAX-1
The HighwayMAX-1 is a nine-axle, extendable single-drop trailer built for long and heavy cargo. Faymonville lists a legal payload above 174,000 pounds at 20,000 pounds per axle and a technical payload above 249,000 pounds for the stated configuration.
HighwayMAX-2
The HighwayMAX-2 combines the nine-axle trailer with a three-axle pin-on Nitro-Booster. The result is a 12-axle trailer configuration with more load-distribution capacity than the HighwayMAX-1.
HighwayMAX-3
The HighwayMAX-3 adds a three-axle jeep dolly and a three-axle Nitro-Booster to the nine-axle main trailer. Faymonville states that the full setup creates a 19-axle combination when the tractor is included.
HighwayMAX All-In-One
The HighwayMAX All-In-One is a modular trailer platform that can be set up as a single-drop or double-drop trailer. Separation points at the front and rear bogies allow crews to install different decks, inserts, and adapters.
HighwayMAX Features That Matter on Heavy-Haul Jobs
Specifications matter when they affect loading, setup, travel, and unloading. The HighwayMAX lineup includes several features that support those parts of the job.
Load Distribution
Axle spacing, hydraulic compensation, boosters, dollies, and adjustable fifth-wheel loading all affect how weight moves through the combination.
Empty Travel and Reconfiguration
Detachable boosters, jeep dollies, liftable axles, and removable components can give operators more options between loaded and empty moves.
Components for North American Operation
Faymonville states that HighwayMAX trailers use brake and lighting components intended to meet U.S. Department of Transportation requirements. The manufacturer also identifies U.S.-market spare-parts availability for certain HighwayMAX models.

About lowboy trailers

A lowboy drops the deck between the gooseneck and the rear axles, putting the load 18 to 24 inches off the ground. That low center of gravity is what lets tall equipment — excavators, dozers, cranes, drill rigs — travel under bridges without an over-height permit. Fixed-neck lowboys load from the rear or side; detachable-neck models let the machine drive straight on from the front. Typical capacities run 35 to 60 tons, with multi-axle configurations reaching well beyond that.
