The Alpha HD A80MG is our 80,000# payload, mechanical gooseneck, double drop. Some of the standard features the A80MG comes with includes an air-assisted gooseneck support arm, 12” crossmember spacing, 2-position neck connector plate, and chain drops from the front to rear of the trailer, apitong deck, and T1 steel construction. About double drop trailers
A double drop has two steps: one behind the neck and one ahead of the rear axles, forming a low well in the middle. The well sits close to the ground and typically runs 25 to 29 feet, which is where tall, heavy items ride — presses, transformers, compact cranes. Detachable and fixed-neck versions exist, and extendable wells handle over-length pieces.
