The Alpha HD A80MG is our 80,000# payload, mechanical gooseneck, double drop w/ aluminum pull-out outriggers. Some of the standard features the A80MG comes with incudes, an air assisted gooseneck support arm, 12” crossmember spacing, 2 position neck connector plate, and chain drops from the front to rear of the trailer, tractor tongue cutout in rear transition, apitong deck, and T1 steel construction. About double drop trailers
A double drop has two steps: one behind the neck and one ahead of the rear axles, forming a low well in the middle. The well sits close to the ground and typically runs 25 to 29 feet, which is where tall, heavy items ride — presses, transformers, compact cranes. Detachable and fixed-neck versions exist, and extendable wells handle over-length pieces.
